You are Worthy
The Apostle Paul mentored a young man in the faith whose name was Timothy. We get an up close look at their relationship in our Bibles through a few letters he wrote to him called 1 and 2 Timothy. The letters are filled with encouragements, affirmations, warnings, and instructions. They establish the importance of Bible teaching in the local church and the godly character of the people who do the teaching. By the time we finish reading the letters, we realize the big responsibility it is to lead and teach in the local church and feel the weight of the many admonitions given like fleeing, pursuing, fighting, holding, keeping, doing, setting, guarding, and avoiding.
For those of you serving in a teaching and/or leadership position in your church, 1 Timothy 5:17 has some much needed words of encouragement. “Let the [teachers/leaders] who rule well be considered worthy of double honor, especially those who labor in preaching and teaching. For the Scripture says, “You shall not muzzle an ox when it treads out the grain,” and, “The laborer deserves his wages.”
In other words, you are worthy! You are worthy of respect on blast!
We at TEAMeffort want to thank you for what you do to study and prepare and plan and lead. Thank you for the time you invest and the sacrifices you make. Thank you for the ways you serve that only God knows. He has a specific word of blessing for you: “Your Father can see what is done in private, and he will reward you.” (Matthew 6:4) Yes, so many things you do may go unnoticed, but every single one of them matters to God. And even if you don’t feel appreciated and respected, God is not unfair. He sees all you’re doing and he will take care of you!
“For God is not unjust. He will not forget how hard you have worked for him and how you have shown your love to him by caring for other believers, as you still do.” (Hebrews 6:10)
We are grateful for your care and love for your students! May God bless you and many others honor you!
