In Altoona we partner with a number of local churches and ministries helping connect groups with the needs in their communities. TEAMeffort groups have been serving this community for the past 15 years and we look forward to another wonderful year of ministry with great partners in Altoona, PA.
Construction-based projects include painting, landscaping, ramps, decks, roofs, drywall, framing, sheds, or insulation. You will have staff on-site leading you through the projects, with skilled help available as needed.
PennView Suites in apartment-styled dorms. There are XL twin mattresses, Full-sized mattresses, and air mattresses between the apartments. Each apartment houses 8 to 14 people with a living room and bathroom with a shower. Genders will be housed separately. Meals will be on site.

We handle the details such as mission sites, tools, food, lodging and programs so you will have more time for fellowship, work and worship with your youth.

All you have to bring is your group. Your mission site will be stocked with all of the tools and materials needed, so you can spend time working with your group instead of preparing your site. We ask groups to bring their own reusable water bottles, feel free to bring your own work gloves as well!
We have skilled and helpful staff on the mission sites to assist your group with the technical and practical aspects of the job—ensuring the success of your youth’s mission project. The youth and leaders that you bring will need no prior experience or expertise to be able to make a difference on the mission field.
Your group will work together as a team to accomplish your youth mission project and will also get the opportunity to meet, interact and worship with youth from other groups. You only have to provide transportation for your own group, avoiding the liability of taking youth from other groups in your vehicles. Your group benefits from having shared objectives, challenges and accomplishments!
You will find an energetic, hardworking and fun staff at TEAMeffort. They dedicate their entire summer to missions and are strong Christian role models for your youth. The staff will spend time building relationships with your group, working with them on the mission sites, organizing the games and activities, and leading worship at the evening services.
Attitude can make or break a youth mission trip. At TEAMeffort, we understand that this is your mission trip. We see our role as facilitating your trip to make it the best mission experience possible. We respect the individuality of your group and want to strengthen and build it through an experience of serving and worshipping together.
We prioritize the partners we have at every summer location. We work throughout the year to find the right local patterns to ensure the work groups participate in benefits the community in a healthy way! Altoona’s housing is at the PennView Suites. This is an off campus housing location for Penn State University. It has lots of open space outside and a nice apartment style on the inside.
Your camp fee covers lodging, mission site materials and tools, evening programs and all meals except for those during your free time.
TEAMeffort staff will handle all of the details such as food (except meals during your free time), lodging, mission site materials and the evening worship services. Each evening after the worship service, groups will have an opportunity to discuss the message and activities of the day. We will provide a devotion book for each camper and discussion questions for each leader about the message for you to discuss during your time together. All youth leaders need to do is use the activity map (located on each individual camp page on the TEAMeffort website) to plan for your free days and complete the youth leaders checklist also provided on your camp page. And of course, bring your youth ready to work hard and have fun.

The number one reason to come is to help someone else in the name of Jesus. While taking part in this journey, you will hopefully be changed yourself, learn new skills, meet new friends, and get closer to your youth group.
For our mission camps, you will be doing some form of hands on project like painting, landscaping, and/or building. Don’t worry if you’ve never done this and it sounds intimidating. You will do just fine! We have a TEAMeffort staff member there to help you along the way and if needed a contractor. The most important aspect of our work will be to serve others as Jesus taught us. Loving those we get to help is the best part of working at TEAMeffort during the week.
Each camp has different activities. Check with your Youth Leader to see what you all are doing. Also look at the camp’s webpage you are going to and click on the Download Here button to look at possible options at the housing facility.
We accept reservations online or by phone. Any changes in reservation number can only be changed by calling our office at (877) 598-3414.
Registration will be available until the first day of the camp week.
Our camps are open to middle school and high school students. Individual trips are not offered at this time. One chaperone is required for every 10 students under the age of 18. Chaperones of each gender are required for groups of girls and boys to ensure supervision at our housing facilities.
At registration, we require one Primary Contact to receive all trip and payment information through phone and email. We will inform the Primary Contact if any changes are necessary to camp housing or location due to unforeseeable circumstances. They are responsible for relaying this information to the group and completing the following forms:
